Hintertux Summer Skiing

I'm living in Innsbruck for the next month or so and want to go get some turns at Hintertux.

Does anyone have any info? On the website it looks like they're open all summer but the park is not. Does anyone know if they have anything set up at this time of year and what the conditions are like? Also any tips on renting gear? I don't have any hard gear with me.

Thanks in advance.

I think the park is closed atm and it opens somewhere in september. There's a ski rental shop in the village

Yeah you wanna get up there early as its done by two. It's pretty deserted apart from international race teams dotted about. Plenty skiing to be had so worth the trip from Innsbruck. Message them for details on the park, last year no park, year before nice jump line.

Enjoy

Ah fuck, I don't have a car out here and it looks like the public transport wouldn't get me there till pretty late (three changes or something). Thanks anyway, good to know.

Stubai Glacier is basically Innsbruck, go hit that up instead !!

That's what my initial plan was but looks like it's closed for skiing this summer. Says this on their website:

"3 / 26 open lifts 0 / 34 open slopes

Summer program from 9 July to 4 September 2016. Skiing service inoperable."

Dachstein is not close to Innsbruck, and it's closed now. Stubai is also closed. It's a bitch with public transport to Hintertux, renting a car for the day might be an option. If you have the time, you should try and head up to Hamburg for the indoor park Summer Feast. I know theres a bunch of rides going from Innsbruck, and the park there is all time. It's a 6-7 hour drive, but worth it.

Yeah I looked up the Kitzsteinhorn as well as I'm in the Kaprun area in a few weeks time but that'll be closed then also.

I just looked up a Summer Feast edit from last year and the set up looked sick, thanks for the heads up. You know anyone heading up from Innsbruck who might want some extra company in return for beer/gas money?

try this sitehttp://go-shred.com/ it's normally pretty good, can be a bit quiet sometimes.

Otherwise try and hit up people on the facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/snow.park.bispingen/?fref=ts

Haven't been based in IBK for a few years now, so a bit outta the loop. Renting a car and finding people who wants to come might be an option, car rental is fairly cheap if you're ok to spend a little bit of cash. Once you get to the park event you'll be all good, tons of people to ski and party with.

best place to check for hintertux is always the betterpark facebook page. I went mid june last year and they had a reasonable amount open in the park. I think it does change from year to year though, and it looks they they closed at the end of may this year and wont reopen the park till sept

Hintertux "opens" for the Winter end of September/beginning of October.

I went that week last year for it. It was cloudy/foggy most of the week, expect loads of snowboarders, and expect slushy conditions by 2/3pm most days.

End of the week it was a giant field.
