Hiking to the top of whistler

But that's tracked out now.

If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle there are other glaciers around that you could drive to. If you don't, you could ride your bike up ther service road to cut down on the hiking time. If you have no bike or car, and you're dead set on the resort, I'd say 3-4 hours with gear, plus you're probably out of shape.

These guys were the real first ones to get some sea-to-sky pow this year:

Graham, that was dope. I was thinking of doing that one of the weekends coming up before november

As Graham said it will take sometime but if you have access to a good truck and know some of the other places to go you can save yourself some time. The snow was basically down to the bottom of Ruby bowl and started quickly after that. You could shred the whole blackcomb glacier, and when we flew over corona/decker etc there was a significant amount of snow left over from last season, actually kinda looked like mid season. Worth a good day for sure, specially with a bit more snow. Also Mt Baker is a great place to do quick early season laps, they will be getting some snow as well. Be safe and enjoy

ya not going lie i know very little about back country skiing but gonna take an avy course this winter though. do i need to really worry about avalanches at this point in the season?like i don't i have a beacon so would it be really stupid of me to hike up there now or should i just play it safe and hold off till i take a avy course and have proper knowledge + proper gear? and thanks for the info

Always be aware of avalanches. No excuses. Definitely wait if you are looking to explore. No need to learn the hard way.
