is fuckin awesome, all you have to do is ski four 40 second runs, then ski the park for the whole time in between...usually my friends and i skip lunch and just ski...its awesome, and you miss an entire day of school, free lift tickets to a variety of places, its just all around good

To bad our high school racing is a little different. We don't ski park in between. We also don't get a whole day off unless its like regionals or something like that... I think.

too bad we dont have a ski team. we have a club. I asked the teacher who's running it when we're going skiing and he said 'as soon as they get some snow' I wanted to yell at him. and because about 30 shitty skiers and boarders joined, the kids who are actually good, theres probably 4 of us, will only get to go once or twice. I hate this town

our ski team is so slack, you dont have to go to practices, the coach is a stoner...the team was on the bus talking about smoking and he's like 'sounds good to me' and then he was like 'no wonder we sucked so bad at states' bahhaha

Our race coach is real strict about training and racing and practice, but we still suck. They try to get into the park, but they never do. Thats why i don't do my high-school ski racing.

Our team has somewhat strict practices, but not really. But its awsome, because since I'm on the team, the school pays for my trip to go ski at Jackson.

I hate our ski team we dont train or anything the people that set of the gates are idiots they use shove in gates that pop out cuz they drill bit is to big and they set them up like a GS course then go to sl it is stupid espically if u use to race cuz I go to cross check the gates and they pop out and they DQ me saying im skiing to aggresive it is crap cuz i ask if i can cross check and they say yeah then DQ me oh and I run 17.4 or the course they have set up

There is no such thing as shitty snow only shitty skiers.

If it was easy they would call it snowboarding.

OK people let me break it down fo yo, take tonite for instance...its around 5 below right, anyway we get tehre slip the course for like an hr, freeze are asses off before we race, we race, were to cold to even take a free run, and even if we wanted to hit the park we couldnt csaue well r school is gay and were not alloud to hit the park AT ALL. i mean we do anyway but just the fear taht are advisor could be riding the lift watchin us makes the park no fun. so yea racing with the school is not all its cracked up to be. if i didnt like racing and this girl on the team i would quit

300 bucks for a 'racing pass' and then you have to go to a shitty mountain at night. you don't get home until like 11 o'clock on a school night after just standing around freezing your balls off. and they suck too. I am much better off on my own at a better mountain with better conditions and having more fun.

But, if they had a club that went on a few decent trips and it was chill, I would do that.

My highschool racing was very short lived. My dad was the coach, which was kind of cool. But I was the only girl on the team. Our team really sucked, but we could out ski any of them on mountain. Just dont become a gate monkey, free skiing is what it is all about.

yeah up here in ontario we only have to do two runs.... its so nice! i love it! cheap lift tickets & a ride to the hill & back!

I was on my high school race team. It was GREAT. We had an annual budget and one year spent it all on hooking ourselves up with sweet North Face gear. Then we all kept it. We had to get a pass which sucked because our home mountain sucked but other than that it was cool. Free trips all over the state to ski and stuff. Plus it helped me develop as a skier.

 
our school has a ski team, and there are some really good people on it. i didnt join cuz ud have 2 go buy like racing suit,helmets, etc. and im cheap. i wish we had a freeride team

not if your a level 1 racer... thats when you only race with your school. if your level 2 you race with a club or something of the sort... most of them wear their suits.. i dont think they're mandatory thou!
