We got accepted to the Rose Bowl Parade for next January. Also we marched in the Macy's Day Parade my freshmen year. /Claim

This year my schools marching band is marching in the St. Patricks day parade, in Dublin Ireland.
We go every four years, invite only for HC and College bands. The last couple of times we have gone, we've won.

Oh, and I played for Bill Clinton in Jazz band last year. But the athletic comment was funny, but with all these opportunities i've gotten through band I don't really want play soccer or football.

Why is it that if someone has an interest that's not sports it's because they weren't good enough to run around chasing a ball? That's like going to a doctor and being like "What, are you too weak to work construction?"

i did play two sport seasons a year plus skiing every damn day. so... touche?

because if you were really good at a sport, you would fucking love it. its just human nature to think that things we are really good at, especially were we can prove we are better than someone else, are really fun. Plus some of the social benefits from playing a sport are pretty awesome.

But, until i went off to college i had no idea how big marching band was in some areas. Like, it was a bigger deal to be in band than it was to be a starter on varsity...given their football team was awful.

It varies from area, to area, but in general band will always be looked down upon as the geeky halftime show that no one cares about.
