Hi everybody! [Infos about me and my ski setup]

Hi everybody,

My name is Riccardo Masutti and I'm a 18 years old Italian skier. Currently I'm 1.80 and 76kg.

I followed NewSchoolers site and forum for about the last 4 months and finally I decided to subscribe and officially joining in.

I practice Rugby and, obviously, Ski, but I like all types of sports in general. In the past I played Soccer, Basketball and Swim with official teams.

My hobbies are running, listening to music (mostly Hip Hop and EDM) & going out with friends.

In the future I'd like to parachuting and climbing.

I started freestyle and freeride last year because I got bored of Alpine skiing. I started with simple tricks like rails and 360 with normal skiis and I loved it so this year i bought a complete new setup.

My actual setup:

Boots: Nordica Ace of Spades (28)

Skiis: Rossignol Scratch Pro (181cm)

Ski poles: Dynastar Vector Pro (120cm)

Helmet: Smith Holt Black (still designing it and applying cool stickers...)

I will become very active asap. See you in the forum!!!

Ps: sorry if my english sucks. You know, Italians sucks at English ;)

And here are some photos:

I think TGR would be more than happy to have you on their forum. You should go post this there. They are really nice people

I quite like the idea of this. Nice way to find out a bit more about the members here and the type of equipment they use. Hopefully this thread for not get a tonn of hate and we lose a new member just as he joins.

Not sure if you have understood the point of this site

Not sure if you have understood what normally happens in 98% of forums: first post = presentation.

Btw this thread it's more than a simple intro. Maybe people with my same height/weight who needs to know what others people bought (like ski height etc.) can compare and decide what size to buy. Ps: this is the exact reason why I discovered NewSchoolers.com

Welcome man!

Definitely check out this thread, its got a bunch of useful stuff in-https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/570376/Guide-to-NS--Read-Me-

Welcome to NS! Here you will lose any and all attempts to do school work and procrastinate the most important things to sit on this site. This site is like a drug where you will get addicted very quickly.

Ensure you read the stickies in site discussion and avoid any and all reposts. Use the search bar and google, post in correct forums and you will be a great addition to NS

welcome! hope you enjoy your stay with us, we're actually a pretty rad community for the most part.

You're right, that is what happens on most forums..... no one does this here though haha, maybe we should have an introduce yourself thread or something like that where people like you can post stuff like this?

Dude, people here just seems trolls and kids. I tried to make a cool intro thread with some Infos of my new setup and a big part of comments are just pointless..

thats because no one ever makes intro threads here. generally new people just start posting in threads and only make them if theres a question / something to be discussed

This place is generally like a NOFX concert- you don't come for serious music, you come for a good time and a lot of it is jokes. There are serious parts to NS, but they are more found in other forums like Gear Talk, or in some of the video areas.

One of the main rules of NS is don't take things too seriously and get defensive. It only adds fuel to the fire. You need to have a sense of humor and don't take things personally.

But, welcome!

Exactly! It's the internet, nothing's personal. After all, it's just skiing right?

I have sense of humour but I don't understand why people here just think "stupid" an intro thread . I posted an intro thread because all the forums I joined in the past 6 years had intro section for new members...

It's just routine...
