AutisAware is a non-profit organization that spreads awareness of autism. I have two autistic friends at my high school and we decided to form this organization to help educate the public about autism.

few things piss me off as much as the bumper stickers that say "proud parent of an autistic child." like jesus fuck, it makes it so obvious that the parents are insecure about their kids problems. its just like a football player walking around shouting NO HOMO after everything he says to another guy just so show off how un-gay he is.

that being said i did it^^
 
Not to derail the thread, but how do you cope with it? Like, do you medicate, self medicate, or just try to control it as best as you can?
 
i can see that by your post count.....

obsessed with skiing/NS? that would actually be awesome! i could make my parents bring me to the mountain every day and if they didnt they would feel guilty...
 
Actually, would you be able to PM me info on starting this in my area? I run the student council at my school and think it would be an awesome thing to work with.
