I have never really skied much for out of bounds skiing, but think it looks amazing. I have done a little hikin around steamboat and copper, but nothing much. I just read an article on powder and was really inspired. http://powdermag.com/features/news/davenport-eolus/ I was just wondering if anyone had some advice on where a good place to climb or hike for a beginner or where I could take a climb or hike or avalanch class or something. If anyone is in a big mountain cult, I would really like an invite or advice. thanks

well you should definitely start by the basics, which is getting avy training and gear. Then I guess you gotta find ppl who know the area and know where to go. I'm kind of in the same situation. Avy classes are everywhere, google it.

ya, you should come out to Tahoe next season and take a backcountry clinic at Kirkwood. They also have killer cat skiing. Great deals and great vert.

this season has just been pow days so all skied was big mountain. Out of bounds does not exist in europe so you can go where ever you want.

yeah u just joined didnt u

lol I liked ur thread about wanting to learn more in the BC and how you were on NS

I thought that was a bad idea at first but you got ok replies

find some friends in your area who will be willing to show you around and help you get set up with the right gear.

Move to Switzerland get your ass kicked ski pow , fuck girls, Party like a rock star and smoke the swiss green and rip the shit out of the fuking amazing mountains.

get your friends in the area to help you get ready and go with them

if you don't know anyone take a class near you and meat some people

thats my biggest problem... I have no friends that ski, or ride or anything. I live in South Dakota. Nothing for Big mountain for at least a 10 hour drive.
