I'm thinking of getting an iBook for college, plus i could do all my editing and stuff on it, are iBooks as good as i hear, and are they any different from a regular pc? as in mac vs. pc

no, find a deal all computers are pretty much the same, basicly as long as you have 50 gigs, 256 ddr, and 2 gigs of processing power you'll be fine editing. plus with all that saved money you can buy fun drugs to do.

 
might go with more ram then that, but other then that, ya, for video aditing, you dont need an extremly good computer unless your lookinbg to do it like as your profession.

macs rule pcs! Windows is the gayest operating system of all time. Macs have panther, way better. ibooks look really sick, but a powerbook would last longer probably without being updated.

i have a powerbook g4. it owns. i used to use pc's but they suck compaired to this thing. I am using it for graphic design right now. my buddies use their macs for music and video editing. only way to go man.

yea, I love when windows freezes. I can't recall my computer freezing yet, i have a desktop g5. off da hook, Im never going back to pc's ever again.

they're a pain in the ass, windows everything works with everything else, moving files and shit around is easyer, removing programs is easyer. Everyone knocks pc's ad shit but mine never freezes, or slows down. It works fine, and all day at school I'm on g5's and they're sick computers for sure, but I just prefer windows.

 
If you have a new PC and you don't have a shitload of viruses becuase your semi-intelligent and installed software then Windows never freezes. I have never had this computer freeze (PC) and i've had it for 6 months.

macs are great for things such as graphics video and audio but pc with windows ops kick huge ass over mac maybe if you knew your computer history you would understand more .. microsft even owns a huge part of apple now .. back in the good old 90's apple had huge money problems and microsoft bailed them out .there for any thing made by mac microsoft has a say in . haha its funny how things work

^^^ haha 'macs are great for graphics video and audio, but for anything else...' ...what else is anyone our age gonna want to do with a computer besides that stuff?? Apple's OS is soo much more stable, much more secure, can't get any viruses, and much more user friendly both aesthetically and intuitively...i can't tell you how many people i know who have pc's who wish they'd gotten an Apple

shit dude. The only reason i have ever had Windows XP freeze is becuase im being stupid. (like im doing a virus scan, burning a cd, and listening to music at the same time). We have a new G4 tower (1.2 ghz, 768 mb of ram...) and that fucker will get laggy if im listening to music and switching in expose between 3 web pages. i mean i love expose and fcp4 is the best video editor but Avid is close and overall pcs are better.

also, if it wasnt for os x, macs would not be even close to pcs, they would suck alot liek the did before os x
