Sometimes it just takes lots of practice and the will to beat your face in, get back up, and do it again is what it's all about.....

Don't worry about 540's right now until you can throw smooth 180's and 360s.

You need to learn some grabs. Just do it.

yes, it is going to feel awkward, but is it really that hard to reach down and grab your sticks?

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

Like JF said he still sees kids tryina bust misty 1080'2 when they cant even bust a nice 360 grab.. Slow it down

Hush little baby dont say a word, and never mind that voice you heard, its just a beast under your bed, in your closet in your HEAD!

Abbreviated...

First slow down your progression, be able to throw each trick smooth before really moving up..

1. Spins w/ no grabs - lead with head and shoulders, i pole plant on the lip of smaller jumps...

2. Spins with grabs, get spins down without using your feet to help you spin. Crank a lot harder.

3. 540 - get good at landing switch - get good air doing a 3 and next time get the same amount of air and just spin 1/3 faster

to get better at rails build a rail and set it up in your yard. Session it for hours. When you master it make it harder. Rail sessions with friends at your mountain will do a lot too.

My girlfriend told me to shove my skis up my ass

I'd say the key things in learning new tricks are guts and practise (not to mention professional training). If you're afraid to take it to the next step, sometimes the 'shut the fuck up and do it!' approach works (especially if that's what you're telling yourself to do). But if fear overcomes then have fun not being successful. Obviously once you've actually landed a new trick a few times, with practise you'll get more confident with it and eventually you'll be ready to raise the bar once more. Good luck and welcome ot the club....

Keep it real

what do you mean ghostdragon when u say dont spin using your feet I learned threes by hucking my arms but this week I learned how to carve and pop at the lip(I can only do it on the bigair jump)I still huck little ones. Just using my feet feels alot smoother and my friends say it looks better

I don't know. But I think what What_A_Wookie means by getting used to spinning without using your feet is that when you throw a spin with grabs then the grab tends to set the rotation differently, so you need to be able to throw the rotation fine using your hips and upper body.

If you throw a tailgrab in a 720, your feet are going to be in an awkward position different then a straight 720, which is going to feel.. different.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

just make sure as you do bigger tricks, that you can do them with style before moving on to bigger tricks. Just don't go out and see how big you can spin all penciled out, its all about style now
