Help with ski length please

hey my mate is looking for new skis, and there are these k2 extremes up for grabs really cheap but theyr 164cm, and im not sure if he should get them because they may be too short. he is about 6ft1 mayb but only 66kg, do you think these will be wa to small?
 
my rule for skis is that they should be close to my height. since im still probably growing i get somewhat longer skis but once that stops i will get the size as close to my height as possible. for pow/rocker skis you can get away with longer sizes because your effective edge is shorter. more advanced skiers are also better able to handle longer lengths. just take that all into consideration. hope it helps
