So i am going to NZ this summer and planning on skiing. staying in queens town for a while and then going up to the north island for a week or so, leaving in early june and staying till the end of the month.wondering,What the seasons like, and hopefully if there might be enough snow to ski while im there?Wheres a good place to demo park skis in and around Queens-town if so.Wheres the best place to ski, i have heard good things about the remarkables for a close resort to where i am staying in Queens-town.Looking for some help NS.

You'll be a bit early for the NZ season at the start of June. Coronet opens about the 5th but just manmade snow and no park. Remarks and the fields in Wanaka usually open around 25th or so. Season doesn't really get underway properly until July.

Snowpark near Wanaka is aiming to be open early June this year - could be an option for early season park skiing.

thanks guys, i found a heli ski outfit out of queens town that im gonna do. I no im going early in the season, so i guess im just gonna have to hope for some sweet early snow,I appreciate all your help. one other thing,What are the rentals like at the remarks?

Also do you know if the remarkables or other resorts have their own official websites?, i cant find them anywhere

nzski.com for remarks and coronet

everywhere has rentals on the mountain, dunno if you'll get park skis up there or not though. It's cheaper and you have more choice if you rent in town

hey ns.

l am leaving in a week to spend the month of june.

looking for some last minute advice.

+k as always

thanks

Be nice and anyone will help you out. Talking to people in Queenstown is always the best option as they'll know whats up with the conditions and mountains etc.

There's still zero natural snow around NZ atm but it should be coming in a few weeks. BUt by the end of the month you should fidn ome nice spots for a bit of pow and Snowpark/Remarks/Cardies should all have a decent park up.

no snow atm, and its kinda warm , dont bother with coronet just go to remarks, also snowpark is not that far away from queenstown. what part of queenstown you in?

just got to Nz today i will be in christchurch tonight and then drive down to queenstown in the morning. Im staying at the queenstown mews which i believe is on franktown road. Not sure exactly where in the city though. How long is the drive to Snow Park?

ya snow is a bummer. im praying for some though got my skis down here now just hoping i get to use them.
