alright so i have a pair of anthems and i used them since like decemeber of last year and for mmy summer setup this year until the edges started to come off.. i know this isin't good but im looking for some more information about edges.. currently i have one sidewall edge pretty much gone on the ski that i slide rails regular with.. how much edge should come off before i should get another ski? is it THAT big a deal to go with no edges?

yes, but how can you grip a rail with out them too...

Edges break on rails, it's a fact of life, there is no way around it. As to when to get new skis, that's up to you, some people can handle skiing with no edge underfoot, personally, I can't stand it. If you decide that you can ski with them ok, but you want to have some friction to help grip for swaps, simply switch your skis around (put the left one of the right foot, and the right one on the left foot), then, once those edges break, if you decide you don't want to get new skis yet, since they're anthems, remount them backwards giving you two fresh edges to work with....but don't expect them to handle well at all, cause now you have no edges to hold on the snow/ice.

Like I said, it's mostly personal preference/can you afford new skis...if you can afford to get new ones, when any part of edge comes completely off it's probably time.
