Help with drop-in Pictures

What is the best way to attach the down ramp onto the platform. I was just thinking of putting a 2x4 across the front. Also, will my ramp design work? Has anyone done this? I was thinking that if i get my skis caught in the cracks it will be death
The platform is about 3ft tall but it is more like four because it is on a little hill and the ramp is eight feet long and three feet wide

if it was mine id go alot steeper than that. i like to get all my speed right away and then if i dont need as much move the jump back or rail farther away. i just dont like not having enough speed having to work hard to get it all.
