So I desperately need new boots this season, but always have trouble finding boots wide enough. Also, I don't live in a town with a certified bootfitter. So I have some questions....

What are some solid boots with a wide last that still have a stiff flex?

Also, has anyone punched full tilt boots before and was it a success?

Any other boots that are solid all round rippers with a good flex that I can easily punch?

In ppls experience, how for can a last be punched before it hits its max punchability?

Most salomon spks, the pros would be the best but the kaos is a little cheaper and kinda the same

I have just heard that the spk pro, even though it says a flex of 110, is not actually that and is way softer.

But if it is actually true to flex I would be pretty happy

check out the salomon impact 8cs they are a 100flex i believe, and them as well as the impact 10cs's have a custom shell, hence the CS. What they did was used kaprolene(sp?) its a rubberish material used in prostedics and u can actually stretch out the width of the shell to ur foot. What u do is get the boot, take out the liner most shops who sell these boots have a convection oven, the liners come out, and the entire shell goes in the oven for about 5-10 minutes. Once thats done, the buyer puts on the liner, the bootfitter holds open the top of the shell (its as soft as butter) and u slide ur foot in, u sit in a flexed position for about 10 minutes, the kaprolene will then mold around the width of ur foot, making a complete custom shell fit for ur foot. The forefoot of the boot is already a bit wider so it helps fit wider foots, the heel pocket is a bit on the narrow side, but thats a nice fit to hold ur heel in place. Salomon boots i feel fit pretty true to size, but rememer they will pack out 1/4 of a size. if u have anymore questions just respond here, or pm me. -Jay

oh and if u want a boot with a stiffer than a 100 flex, the impact 10 is a 110 flex, ive tried it on a few times, and it does feel as stiff as they say, i think both the impact 8cs and 10 cs have a 100mm last, but it fits a bit wider, sorry i didnt add this in my other post

At first I was going to say the Dalbello IL Moros, but if you have a wide foot I would suggest Salomons as the others here have said. But I think the SPK's seems to be a little "too" comfy, instead of sitting really tight to have maximum control on your skis. I would maybe take a look at the Ghost-model by Salomon, which looks like a more high-performance boot than SPK.

i dont get how u guys can just say SPK, i have the spk, and its a shitty boot, it doesnt fit everyones feet, just because its a park boot doesnt mean its a good boot for said person, and if u do say spk, give some explanation on why u suggest it to this person

I completely agree with you. The SPK's is an overhyped boot. The best boot is the boot that fits you best, not the one that Salomon says is the ultimate park-boot. Salomons market department are apparently doing a great job, all are recommending SPK's without even having tried them on. They're comfy as hell in the shop, but I doubt they are that comfy on skis for all people.
