im looking for a laptop and i have a few questions. to start, i dont want an apple, i hate them, so please dont recomend them. but my first question is how many GHz is enough to play games like unreal tournament?

im looking for a laptop that will play my music library (a few thousand songs- so a big hard drive), be able to play some games such as unreal tournament and jibberish, has a decent sized screen (no less than 13, no bigger than 16 inches diaganolly). i would also like it to have 512 mb of ram, wifi, and have a decent battery life. im not looking to spend more than 1300 or 1400, so please, give me some sugestions.

im also open to customizing a computer (like they have on the dell and toshiba websites).

i am looking att he toshiba satalite right now, and it seems good except its very heavy and has a bad battery life.

don't worry about HD space for music, just get a USB2 external hard drive for music and mass data storage.

life is too short to have any regrets

^ Thats what I have, I love it.

Better to burn out...

...then fade away.

i just made a "custom" inspiron 6000 and its basically the exact same thing as the m45 (one i just posted) . only thing i want to know, is for those of you that have the inspiron 6000, how is the battery life on it, because on the toshiba m45 (the one i just posted) is supposed to suck.

when you're playing games like that ghz doesnt matter as much as ram does and a good video card. i'd say if you're going to play games on it get an internal hd of at least 40 if not 60gigs for all your programs but you should deffinetly look into an external for all your music files and stuff

this is not a signature.

i found out that the battery is good, but how is the screen? i heard it is a little lacking (as in its not too bright).

OOOH DUUDE YOU SHOULD TOOOOTALY GET AN APPLE MAAAN!

I live in a place far far away, where on occasion the telly tubbies will come to play....and that's when Ma gets out the shotgun. Damn critters climb in our gutter system all the time.
