Help Please

A friend of mine and myself are starting a videoblog this season. We are purchasing a go pro each. However we also want an had camera to film the skiing of eachother from a filmers point of view. I am educated on how to edit video. I was looking at the canon 7d and the t2i. Looking at these cameras i realize they are going to take some getting used to with lenses and other settings that I know nothing about. So i was wondering if purchasing a hd camcorder would be a better idea to get the quality but also no quite the complexity of the hdslr. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!
 
I was in the same situation a few weeks back when I was upgrading my camera. I originally started with the HV40 which is a sick little HDV cam. Gets some really nice footage and you don't really need a lot of manual adjustment or anything to get some good shots. However, I have now got the Canon t2i and love it like a child! It's a little strage getting used to shooting with a HDSLR - with there being no LCD view or anything like that. But once you get used to it I think that the video quality is so much better. However, this comes at the price of learning how to use the manual settings to get the best results. It's not that hard really - you can pick up a manual online I think. It's called the Canon t2i for dummies or something like that. But basically I'd suggest the higher end HDSLR if you're looking to get more professional looking film.
