Help on dub rodeo 9s

Yo guys I pretty much have rodeo 9s on lock both ways and double back flips on lock. For some reason I can not stick a dub rodeo 9. Some people have recommended me trying to do a switch dub 9 as they think it is easier but it feels weird to me. Any thoughts or tips on how I can keep my rotation solid after the first flip?

So here is my best advice do it like a rodeo 9 but just twice. Hope this was helpful.

Now that would be gnarly. I do not have a jump big enough to send that nor am I capable. I just seem to spin out and can not maintain the same rotation as the first flip

make sure you lock into the rotation so you can lock into the spin to lock into the dub so you can lock into the 900 dub rodeo to lock into and lock

Havent landed one yet but on tramp i was kinda struggling landing straight until I started setting them like switch. It helped lock the grab and feel out each dip better and timing opening up.

Ill have to try that thanks dawg

the first dub 9 most people learn is a misty, so if youre comfy with misty id go for that, but bio rodeo or flat work too.

is this on snow? can you do it on tramp?

if you can do it on tramp you should know what to expect already. most common mistake people make is penciling out before the second inversion. you have to really lead the second inversion with your head. stay tucked through out.

if youre trying it on tramp the progression is:

90 to back -> cat twist 3 -> sw (you want to be able to do that while holding the tuck and grab the whole way through)

1.5 rodeo to back at 90 -> cat twist 3 -> sw (once again holding the grab the whole way through)

optional: 90 to back -> cat twist 3 -> 1.5 rodeo out to sw

once youve done those like 50 times each you should be able to just send it pretty comfy. have some one to throw a mat if you still a bit scared.

it feels a lot like a single rodeo 9 except you dont pencil out and hold the tuck through the second rotation.

edit: you can also go to seat drop instead of back for that change in axis, but i think its harder to get an idea of it.

This is some really good advice I appreciate it man. Im talking about throwing it on skis but I have never done it on tramp either. Last time I have stepped on a tramp was 3 years ago but did not throw any dubs besides a dub backy and dub flat. K plus for u

also watching jon olsson kangaroo flip at x 2008, it looks like he goes flat/ro 3 to flat/ro 5. as opposed to 5 to 3

might be better for figuring out the timing of the second head dip since you have view of your landing at mid jump.

edit: he also gets his no grabbing leg pretty high up to his butt too.

On tramp it's often a first dub, but definitely not on snow. I do not think it's a good idea to try a dub misty as a first dub on snow

true, dont have to worry about your tips on take off.

correct me if im wrong, but sw dub rodeo 9 would be the same set as misty facing forwards right? like arm infront of you and down? never really got this part of skiing...

i don't know what you're talking about, first dub 9's on skis are usually cork or flat/rodeo depending on comfort. not a lot of people do dub misty 9 because they're sus.
