Used search bar, but wanted to hone in based on my info/stats – long post, but appreciate the help.
My info: 6'1", 210 lbs, pretty strong w/ an aggressive and energetic riding style and for an old fart in my 30s I still givr open to close. I am currently an under 50 day/yr skier, probably 30-40 days. When I am not on the mountain I whitewater kayak.
I ride all mountain (70%) and park (30%) depending on pow/conditions/time of season. In the park I just spin 3s and 1s and slide some mellow boxes and rails. Also, like to spin, ride switch and screw around on natural terrain. On the rest of the mountain I like to ski fast, off piste – like to make big fast turns no matter what the conditions, junk, crud and powder. I am a season pass holder at Mt Hood Meadows where I will be skiing the most and take some trips to Mt. Bachelor, Whistler, Eastern BC, Mammoth (skied at Mammoth for years growing up in Cali). Anyway, I would like to get something big and twin tip, that still has some hard snow stability.
I am coming off of a K2 AK Enemy 188, 118-90-108 which has served me well, but was definitely on the soft side – worked fine in pow and the park, but flopped around a bit more than I liked when mach GSing in chopped up stuff. Also, owned the Line Ostness Dragons as my first twin and liked it.
I used to work at shops as a boot fitter and would go to demo days and BS w/ the reps, but now I’m out of the loop and need the wisdom of some of you shop/industry guys, or anyone who has ridden some of the boards below – hopefully the kind of info I used to give to old farts like me when I worked at shops and was always on the new stuff.
Also, I included some prices I have seen, so is it worth $100 to $200 if performance if one is close to meeting my needs like Got v. Pimp v. Seth - for instance will the Got rock $190 harder than the Pimp and $180 harder than the '06 Seth?
I am seriously considering:
- Gotama in a 190 - $679
- Seth Vicious, '06 in a 189 - $499
- Pimp in a 193 – $489
Also, open to -
- Prophet 100 in a 186 - $549, ‘06 and
- Scott P4 in a 191
Thought these may be too one dimensional:
- Ant
- Ninthward THA
Thanks
