Help me with Paypal +k

Ok, so I created a paypal account with the account of purchasing a jacket here on NS. I have confirmed it, and I think everything. So when i go to send money to pay for it, an error message comes up saying that there is no money in the balance.

What does this mean?

How do I put money in there?

I have a the basic account and it is connected to my credit card, but I do not want paypal connected to my bank account. Shouldn't it allow me to send money because of the card, regardless if my bank account?

What am I doing wrong?

I always thought that paypal had to be connected to a bank account.

mines just connected to my credit card, works fine. not sure why its not working for you.
