HELP!! me with grabs on 360s

I've been doin 3s for about 2 years now and my set is just starting to look good but I can't figure out grabs. Every time I try saftey, japan, or mute I get really backseat right between 180 and 270. When I'm at 180 it feels really good but I get lost coming out of my grab or something. Ive tried some uncrossed tail/ tindy's and I get less off balance but they're more of a reach and I'd like to learn more than one grab anyway. I can do all the ones I've listed above on straight airs and 180s no problem. I'll attach some videos; any tips would be a huge help! Also sorry I couldn’t cut some of the longer videos, feel free to skip ahead.

The ones in all black are from about a year ago and the ones with the green jacket are from yesterday. My set has gotten better fs but the rest is a bit facked.

Love ya all!

This helps me with grab 3s idk if it would for you. But try grabbing at like 270 doesn’t have to be exact so like once you know it’s coming around try grabbing then

Hmmm, smart. Does it look good?

Happened the same to me with 3s with any grabs, it took me like 2 years to get it. What worked was to pop way more and grab between 180 and 270 and not rush it. Also not looking down helped.

maybe this is dumb, but make sure you are super comfortable with grabs during straight airs. Like get them down perfect, then start with tucking your knees only during the 3. then once thats good try a safety, and then you can move to more complex grabd

I can safety a straight air quite well but knees up is a good tip, I'll have to try that next time I get a chance.

ya when I was teaching my brother his biggest hurdle was tucking the knees so the grab is easier. Good luck tho dude from some of the clips you are def on the way! youll get them in no time

Bring the skis up to the hands, not the hands down to the skis. Bend knees not the back

Also it helps to avoid looking down when going for your grab, when you're grabbing at 180 you're also looking down so you're gonna end up backseat.

that makes sense, but grabbing without looking where ur grabbing is HARD! ig thats why I need to get more comfortable tucking my knees up.

K so lets take it back to the basics.

you’ve basically got the rotation on lock, so you don’t need to worry about getting it around, but let’s tighten it up/smooth it out before you add grabs.

Next time you’re out trying do a million T SET 3s.... aka classic freestyle/bump technique/boner steeze.

arms out straight to the side, “helicopter style” with your body position forming a perfect capital T.

UP -> SPOT -> DOWN: pop, bring your arms to a t/helicopter to keep you on axis, spot back up the hill, then look for your landing and bring it down smooth.

Your arms should be rising on your way to 180, spot uphill at 180 at the apex of your air with your arms at the perfect t, then look for your landing as your body comes down to land so do your arms.

this IS the way... it will establish a strong pop and rotation, and give you more time in the air to enter a position. It basically makes you do all of the real work before you even get to 180, so you can then focus on the position of your choice without worrying about falling backseat or goin off axis. With that strong pop, strong core, solid body position, the bulk of the work is done upon take off, you’re basically just along for the ride and you can style it out as you choose for the duration of your air.

Kind of hard to explain via text without demonstrating but that’s how we coach the youngins and it works every damn time.

yup as others have said....slowly work your way into gorilla stance 3s. Hang your hands and suck your knees up. After that (for safety grab) its as easy as finding your ski.
