so ive done a few flats into water about 6 months ago but i tried agian the other weekend and i was a huge pussie and could commit. i wanted to do it standing but my friend said that was too risky and i could hit my head, i dont know how to run at it or what foot to take off. i can do them on tramp everytime im just really scared of cliping into water for some reason.

why would you try flatspin as a first flip into water -.- you'd have to do it "gainer" way. misty is the easiest flip to water

you'd think 3 meters fall couldnt hurt, it really does when you slam from rage spin..

get a diving board and work down eventually to just off the side of the pool, its so easy to do anything off a diving board

At some point your just going to have to saddle up and commit. There's really nothing we can say to make that easier for you.

false

jump, rotate 90 degrees, land on diving board sideways, flatspin outward from the diving board.

profit?

i do this ALL the time with rodeos and flats off a 5 meter board... shit is SOO floaty.

It may be that you're scared of belly/back flopping. I learned by wearing a life jacket and a shirt under it. It's kind of a pussy method but it worked.

even though it seems scary its always 100% easier to take something a little bigger then taking it to small. The more time you have the easier it is. just go for it man don't over think it.

Generally, unless you try, you can't land straight on your back/stomach. The only time I ever have is when I push for a flip and a half.

start with some punch - fronts aka superman flips to get a feel for how far out you need to go and how fast you need to flip, then take off your skirt and do a fucking flatspin

pain is temporary but flipping into the water like a pimp is forever. Smacking is something you have to live with, and the sooner you can get over your fear of it the easier it will be for you to progress.

btw, are we talking about water ramps or diving?

oh right, board, platform, cliff? either way, the guy who said it above is right, it's much easier to learn straight gainers than flats at first.
