Help me set my DIN

Sorry I'm creating something else than a hate-thread or a thread on x-games..

So I just got my Whitedot Preachers mounted with the Look Pivot 18. The thing is, I do not have a clue on how high/low I should set the DIN. They range from 8 to 18. I'm not a hard charger, I will probably just use them to float around in powder. I'm doing a contest later which combines freeride and park, so there is a chance I might ski some hardpack.

I'm 6"0 and 160 lbs

Not to keen on blowing my knees out.

People cant give you good binding advice over the internet.

Go to a shop and have them find a good setting for you.

I did not buy them, I got them from the distributor of Look here in Norway. I specifically asked for the P14. Opened the box, in which was a pair of P18s.

I second the "take your skis to a shop" and get the bindings properly set. There are more factors than just height and weight that go into setting the release settings for bindings.

Send them back then.

Its not worth hurting your knees. Also you could probably ride them at 8 but i try too stay away from the bottom 2 settings.

if u dont want to go to a shop then put it on 8, wich should be right for u, but if they release too easy, then step it up to 9. but i would recomend u bring it to a shop because if u go too high, ur screwed

im 6'0 155 and ride at 9. And thats what the shop set me at. I am a type 3+ skier and they are on my jj's so i am almost always charging hard.

Folks don't seem to understand that you need more than just weight and height to set bindings. We need weight, height, age, bsl, and skier type.
