Help Me Pick Skis

Hey NS,

I've been out of the game for a while so I don't really know much about the past few years in the ski industry. I've done some research but I figured I'd post this thread and ask anyway.

A bit about me first. I will (hopefully) be skiing all over Canada. I'm looking for a one ski quiver that can tear it up in basically anything. I come from a racing background, I have my race coach level 1 and have been skiing since I could walk. On a scale from 1-10 would consider myself to a RAD level skier. I'm 5'10 and 150lbs. I'm from Ontario but go to school out east. So the skiing wont be extreme pow but I want a pair of skis that can handle big mountains. It would be awesome to have (some) tip and tail rocker. Maybe 100-110 underfoot with medium to stiff flex. Lengths in the 180s. I'm not too worried about skiing park, but it happens. Not worried about urban either. I don't have much of budget, first new skis in 4 years and I'll have them for a 4 more so fuck it.

I have my eyes on the Moment PB&Js, Armada TSTs, Line Sir Fracis Bacons, Salomon Rocker 100s, Salomon Rocker 108s or Black Crow Atris. If any of you have these skis I would love to know what you personally think about them.

Bindings. The Rossignol FKS or Marker Jester I guess, I'll ride whatever fits the ski, but I like the pivot metal bindings by rossi, Metal>Plastic.

Yeah so, basically I want to be able to ski everything, everywhere, pow if I find it but also hard pack, a bit of park and tight trees. If there's anything else you need to know, just ask.

Help me out NS.

Dude sounds like you've got it figured out - I would go with the rocker2 100's w FKS180's or Pivot 18's - dope set up for the east and pow days!

Yeah as far as skis go you have it on point. Maybe a few other skis would be batalla all Mtn twins, ON3P kartel 106, and 4frnt devys.

But for bindings maybe look at sth2 because they are a great binding. Also Attack 13s are good too.

I can't get enough of the SFB's, that being said, they are on the softer side.. If you are looking for something stiffer you can't go wrong with the Kartel 106

I have 188 pbjs im selling for a good price if you want them, but they aren't a good park ski... more for charging expert all mountain skiers. they bust crud MUCH better than other freestyle skis, although i wouldnt categorize them as a "freestyle ski".

If I were you id go with a Sir Francis Bacon or 4frnt devastator. Bacons will be more playful and lighter, while devastators will be better for charging and busting crud. Both are said to be awesome skis though, and you can get tricky on either ski.
