Help me pick a cargo box

Well I have never had a cargo box before and I have a few questions and was looking for suggestions. I dont really know anything about them or what to look for in one.
Is it possible to be able to get one that I could have four pair of skis(longest being190) in and also couple pair of boots? One model that I was looking at was the Thule Ascent 1600...
Any suggestions or help would be great

They definitely make ski boxes that are big enough to hold four pairs of skis and boots. My dad has a Yakima one, and we've stuffed 4 pairs of skis/poles, 3 snowboards, 7 pairs of boots, and a small suitcase up there before. I don't think we'll ever be able to do it again, but you get the picture. I'm not sure what model it is, but it clips right to the racks on top of the car so we didn't have to buy the weird metal bars.

Triple post, but it looks like the Thule 1600 is almost exactly the same. They both have 16 cubic feet of space.

I have a Yakima Sky Box 12. I have had 6 pairs of skis in it, I doubt I would have been able to get any boots in there as well though. The cool thing about Yakima is it comes with a limited life time warranty so as long as you look after it, if something goes wrong they will hook you up in a big way. Working at a ski shop that sells them, I have seen Yakima just straight up give people a brand new box. Very legit. What type of vehicle is it going on?

just go ahead and get the biggest one to fit on your car. that way you can keep all your stuff in it and live in the back of your car. wayy cheaper than rent

I guess it could probably work, the length of the boxes for the most part goes unchanged, it is the width that increases. Chances are it would stretch across the whole roof of your whip. Go online and try to find some dimensions i guess
