Help me out in English?

I'm writing an English paper right now and i keep going back and forth on my argument. If you guys could help me out by just giving you're opinion and why, i would appreciate it very much. The question is "Is it important to have a National Literature in the 21st century?"

i would much rather want future generations to be oblivious to the fact that there was once a show called jersey shore.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, I will admit that I do not understand your question. I even googled "National Literature" and am still unsure.

by literature do you mean like libraries and shit so people have the ability to learn to read or do you mean to have high reading level itself, as in all of your country is able to read and write?

maybe this will help, maybe not but this is a sheet that he gave us in class :http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2008/oct/06/fiction.stoppard

from the first paragraph i got the idea that its just lit in general. So IMO i would fight pro lit, because thats simply easier.

I think as time goes on the world's nations, are less diverse and are closer culturally and this makes more similarities between nation's. Unlike the 20th century we now have more common topics that are worldwide ,eventually decreasing a need for literature pertaining only to a certain nation. (I think understand the concept of National Literature....) Just my thought hahaha, this might not make any sense...

no no no, this makes sense this was what i started to write about. i was also thinking of how easy it is to travel and how influential places around the world are which would affect your writing. i think. lol.

well in an anthro sense sure that makes lots of sense, but i dont think it really pertains to what OP is trying to figure out. I may have misunderstood what you said also. But to me your just kind of saying that world cultures are mixing together. Dont know what that has to do with Lit, again i may not understand either.

But seriously, OP don't use this. Using first person in any type of essay is a amateur writing technique. You got to be definitie and tell that shit not how you "think" it is, but act like THAT SHIT IS

this is obvious, why do you assume OP is bad at writing, you know what i dont even know what he's asking.

OP DO WHAT I DO, BULLSHIT THE ENTIRE THING AND JUST SEEM LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT WORKS WITH 6/8 TEACHERS

I would think yes because it has the most arguments. How long is the paper?A few ideas though. It is important in establishing the historical and cultural differences between countries. Especially prominant in Europian countries as the wide ethnic blend spread across a smaller area than say the US and China. You could also say that it creates the modern political differences carried on to today due to the fact that literature used to be one of the only outlets for peoples political say. bottom line it is important to the modern differences in countries, make up whatever reasons you want.

That's a weird question considering I'm one of the few people on this website that uses my real full name as my username.

Obviously he would not use my post on his essay. He wanted to find other NSer's opinions on the question, so I spent 5 minutes to write out mine.
