Help me on my 5s

I seem to have no trouble spinning 3 off of anything, no matter how small or big, but the second I try to spin more, I always fuck up and die. I think its just because when i spin i just throw my body and stop spinning at after 1 rotation.

Here a video of me going for a 5...

anyone have any pointers so that i can start to actaully land them...

step up to a bigger jump, spin like you would a smaller three, and just stay wrapped in. even if you short it by 90, itl slide round. stomp 1 and theyl come easy.

just throw the rotation and keep it going dont make ur head stop at 360, cause then ull stop rotating. just throw it and then just do what you were doing at 360 but do it at 540 insted

dont throw your body. pop hard bring up your knees and spin slow and if you wanna do a five just set it harder pop harder and spin a bit faster and you can spot your landing at three. dont get to excited

you can't throw yourself. that's your first and biggest mistake. learn to set your spin and pop. you don't have to set for a 3, but you definitely have to set for a 5. the difference between a 3 and a 5 is a lot more than 180 degrees man. 1.) set 2.) pop 3.) spot landing at 360 4.) complete spin while looking down to spot landing.

Um, I barly ever do 180s off jumps, but i am very comfortable riding switch, its basically ill ive been doing this year since the park isent open, just just jump and pop little 180s and ski switch, but i i should probably practice them alot more on jumps i guess first...

ya looks like you bail when landing switch. also, this really helped me, when you get to three just move your neck with the rotation so you can spot your landing the whole way around. I wasnt extremely comfortable landing switch so when you can see it makes it much easier.

your upper body is all wacked out during that video. When you set the spin off the lip, try to bring your arms back to your sides for the whole spin. After setting your rotation your arms and shoulders should pretty much be square with your skis and rotating smoothly. A bigger jump really helps too. I learned 5s off a 35 footer. and of course like everybody is saying, be comfortable switch. Landing switch on a 5 is harder than on a 180 in my oppinion.

Yeah that was my problem learing 5s. After 360 i would keep my eyes on that landing and try to tweak my skis around- dont! Keep your shoulders and head rotating until the full 5 and then look at your tips to land.

dont stop your rotation like you said just set the spin and keep it flowing. 5's should be easier than 3's once you get them down

another thing is to be confident... u can't be going into the inrun thinking ohhh here i go to fall ago, be confident and don't give up in the air, if u give up mid air u'll crash no doubt

540's are like going for 3rd base on a first date.

you think about it over and over.

the worst that can happen is she says yes and you dont know what to do.

just throw it... and look back up the hill son!

spin your 3, spot your landing, see how much time you got, then spin off the last 180, and dont land in the bast seat or things get ugly

keep ur head looking for the five dont stop and look at ur landing at the 3... and lead with ur toes and nvr spot ur landing at the 3 when ur first learning...
