Help me make this rail

Hey so I would put this in build a jib cult but its not very popular so here we go.

I have a 18 foot long pvc pipe that's about a foot wide and has walls that are probably .5inch wide. What would be the best way to elevate this rail in order to use it for a summer setup. I was thinking like using legs that the rail just rested on top of like a saw horse but I'm not sure that it would be the best method. Also I would like the rail to be about 3 feet high so I need the legs to be 2 feet tall.

Thanks!

Try something like this:

Where you have three sections of 2x4s the sort of cradle the pvc tube. Then mount 2x4s at maybe a 45 degree angle or something like that for the legs. You can mount the legs to a horizontal piece to give them added support. It'll prob be strong enough if you make three legs 6 ft apart.

If you wanna make it nicer/ have the tools you can cut sort of a cradle for the pvc pipe which would be more stable and look nicer, but probably unnecessary. To mount the pvc on the wood I would probably drill holes in the pvc and wood and put some 3/8" bolts or something like that in there.

I used saw horses once for 3 1 1/2 inch pvc pipes. It worked but I wouldn't recommend it. The bigger tube might work well.

Read build a jib. A million success and fail stories and some pretty decent step by step tutorials. I mean hell there are threads on the subject stickied. Also the cults are dead but people do actually reply to threads in there.

Also like nike said just do it.

You wont

I have a 12ft pvc rail. I built 4 triangles 2.5 feet tall placed the triangles 3ft apart from each other and nailed 2 3x6's to hold them in place. I then used for 3x6's to great a slanted wall on each side.( Doesn't reach the ground for digging purposes. My pvc tube is 4 inches wide. I then placed the tube in the V shaped space left and drilled 2 holes on each end. and bolted the pipe down.

Do a little math and you can make this design just by modifying the design to suit your needs
