Help me get editing right

I have a go pro hero hd. I usually shoot in 720p 60fps. I am on a Mac and usually use fcp7. First question is about compression and making clips look good. Whenever I use applepro res or something like that it makes my clips look very pixelated when exported out of final cut.

I guess I just wanna know the best way to keep my clips looking the same all the way thru the production process.

Am I using the right software?

What's the best compression? If any

Or is it anything within final cut.

Sorta but not really an editing noob.

Then how does it still look shitty? Just follow along with the videos completely. It's an identical setup to what you are using.
