Help me fall asleep!!

Ok so basically, i have the worst insomnia ever, i can never fall asleep at night, i was literally laying in bed before for 3 hours just wide awake. I think it is mainly because i have had alot to think about this week like transfering universities next year, where it will be cheaper for my family to help me with school, rather than paying 43G's, i will only be paying around probably 12. But hey who cares about that? nobody on here does so i dont know why i even mentioned it, but anyways....i made a thread about this last year and nothing seemed to help me sleep, so just give me someeeeething that will help me sleep, i have class in about 6 hours and it sucks, thanks NS
 
got a movie you have seen like a million times? that always helps me. if i cant sleep, i throw The Punisher, House (any of the seasons), LayerCake, or some other movie i have seen a whole bunch and it helps me sleep.

push ups also help, but then you get all nasty and sweaty.
 
to be honest with u, i cant stand watching tv show seasons, as for the push ups, ive done it before shit dont work at all, just gets me going more, +k for ur response
 
nah, ive always stayed away from those sleeping pills, i dont wanna become dependent on them to sleep all the time
 
yeah, my doctor said they wont prescribe them to anyone under like 30 because they are soo addictive.

another option would be to put in some music or something to listen to, like reggae or really really calm rap or soft rock... (dont know if there is such a thing as calm rap, what i mean is something with a beat that isnt "fuck tha POlice" and stuff like that all the time)... another option, which is less attractive is what my military buddy does when he gets on leave, he is stationed in Iraq when he isnt on leave (marine) so when he gets back he stays up from when he gets back (usually around 10pm west coast time) until 10pm the next day, just exhaust himself to reset his body clock. its not attractive in the least sense but its worth a try.
 
room mate and his g.f are about 7 feet from me...i can hear them whispering to eachother, its weird
 
yo man i hear ya. in all honesty, techno/dance/house music does it for me. I have no idea why. most people would think it is the opposite effect because it is so loud and what not but whenever i watch t.v, a movie or listen to music i normally chill to, it just does not cut it. so you could give the techno a try.
 
there is your problem! go grab a shotgun, stick it in their face, and yell "shut the FUCK UP or i BLOW YOU AWAY!!!" like rocco in Boondock Saints. or just kick them out and have them stay at her place.
 
haha, they just whisper like every 27 min or so, so its not that bad, and if i had some headphones handy id try the techno, but they are somewhere in my drawer, which i am too lazy to get up and look for them
 
it is exactly 4:01am here just outside of philly, at a chilly 51 degrees, and some clouds in the sky with a chance of rain
 
holy tits dude, im sorry... hope you fucking can get some sleep. you may want to see a doc to see if they have any ideas.

one idea i got when i had problems too was do something redundant like a crossword puzzle, read a book, or sudoku... worth a try... (i could never understood sudoku and im japanese... is that bad?)
 
we had sudokou for extra credit in math when i was in like 7th grade, looked at it for 5 min threw it in the trash on the way out....seeing a doc is something im considering, i didnt sleep last night (or this morning) until about 430 am i think
 
idk if your school has something like this but my school has this academic/psychological help place (yeah, im going there) and they have people willing to listen to you talk about your life and your problem, and they generally can come up with some help. (yes, im going to the shrinks with this)... its not a lay on a couch, and pour out your problems thing. see if your school has one of those.

Or if you have an ipod touch DL the frequency generator. It has a setting for sleep and that shit puts me out like a light.
 
Put some soothing music on, even opera if it bores you. Lay in your bed and count your breaths. As you count them imagine yourself drawing on a peice of plain paper. This helped me when I couldn't sleep at nights.
 
this works for me everytime, scrubs is what i use, but if i really need to get to sleep fast ill take a antihistamine such as a benadryl helps me go to sleep to. (its an alergy relief pill that has side effect of drowseyness)
 
I have the same problem, too much to do and too little time. Just make a list of what you have to do during the day for a while and make sure you chill like one hour before you have to go to sleep, and it should work. Not drinking coffee, energy drinks or somke before you go to sleep helps also. Too low Hb can also be the problem and then eating correctly will help you. Hope you got some ideas of what to do.
 
try buying a natural sleep aid like Melatonin. You can get it at GNC or maybe even the grocery store, any vitamin or supplement store for sure though.
its the same chemical that turkey has in it that makes people sleepy. I've used it before, it takes about 20 minutes but it helps you to relax and fall asleep. It's cheap too. Just a small bottle of melatonin pills
