So, I just sold my truck....it was a 3/4 tonne 2500 gmc serrria with horrible gas mileage. I'm looking for something with a lot better gas mileage but can still preform in the snow and light off roading ( dirt roads with calapses, and drainage ditches of 2ft deepish)         I am having a lot of trouble picking what to buy.    i have $2800 from the sale of my truck and up to $7000 other dolalrs to access if i see something i must have and wnat it for a really long time.     So I need suggestions for what to get, ideas of differnt cool vehicles.   oh my truck was a bout 4km/Litre  = 9.4 mpg

These are some of the choices i got soo far:

Anyways....suggestions for vehicles.....I'm looking at the 4 runner and suzuki on saturday.  Which one do you guys liek better?           I also like to drive fast, the suzuki maxs out before 140km/h whihc is kinda gay......thats why i like that golf country there...4wd 175hp engine easy goes 160.

Thanks for the helpsss!

Well, since everyone else is gonna say it, get a Subaru. I don't know if they're that great but everyone on here always suggests them. They get decent gas mileage and have good all wheel drive.

definitely get a subaru. i know you said you wouldnt want one unless wits a wrx or whatever, but we have 2, one just broke down after 310k miles were put into it and our other is running strong at 180k. theyre extremely reliable, safe, and farily good gas mileage. im not sure exactly what ours our but the manual id give 24 mpg and the automatic we have is like 20 or so. theyre great in the snow and all, and aweseome for transporting skis and stuff as you can easily put a roof rack on them.

toyota tacoma, truly a rock solid small truck. great off road, super reliable, and decent on gas 20+ mpg. my little sister drives one, and its sick to fuck around on backroads with, and toyotas are like subi's, they last forever. check it out

you dont know how happy i am the one kid on here fuckin goes wheelin and doesnt drive a fuckin subaru or an audi. I would say get a jeep becuase im in love with mine, but if you want gas mileage, i'd agree with the kid above me in getting a taco.

Both of those cars were shitty as fuck and have horrible gas milage. Like its been said, pick up a subaru. You can easily pick up an 1995 or older model for 5000-7000. They will drive to 200k miles and will handle like a suv in snow. Do it.

yeah subs are super pricey out here and they all have at least 150000, most of them are above 200000...its kinda ridiculous.

id go with an older style Jeep Cherokee, good reliabe cars only problem is the back seat is pretty small so better hope your friends arent over 6 foot.

my .02 cents, get the Toyota. 4runners are built for off road and are good at it. Also it might be a little better on the gas than your old truck. since you need to actually clear things it sounds like you don't want a Subaru, because , well they just don't have much ground clearance. ( I know it seems to be heresy to suggest anything but a Subaru on here but I'm gonna do it.)

Or if you wanna get something wicked go for an old school Bronco II or a Jeep CJ.

Also you might want to look into Jeep wranglers (I6 of course)

At the end of the day if you get set on a Subaru then my pick would be an older imprezza 2.5 (not the STi OMG)

Or you could go the baller route and get an Audi with quattro

^ why not the suzuki??

the only reason i don't wnat to get the suz is cuz i'm 6'4 it has no room and many of the parts will be weak on it...and probally gonna need a new front end and all sorts of suspension/ frame support shit shortly. I imagine things break on it....but i donno i don't know shit about suzukis.

yeah i'll join the crowd and tell you to pick up a subaru. i have a 96 legacy outback (grocery getter wagon) and i love it. so much fun to drive in the winter. nothing special most other times but they are reliable, i get over 30 mpg on the highway and AWD is the bomb.

i've an audi a4, 1.8 turbo and i have no complaints at all. You can find a 99 one with 90000 miles on it for right around 5000. They have awd, and are fast. The only problem is that foreign parts can be pricey.

All I can say is, I drive a '92 or '93 Toyota Corolla Wagon 4wd usually, and it is sweet. stays on track in sloppy half frozen mud, takes back roads and bumps with ease, airs speed bumps and frost heaves easily, has great traction and fits 5 people with all their equipmeent, even though its not too comfy, if they are big people. I'm going to review it, if I can find pictures. It has around 500 000 km on it and I can drive from PEI to MAine on 1 tank of gas, which is around $40-$50. My friend has one tahts even older (late 80s) for a field car, and it rips.
