HELP! Lizzies of Bacons?

Okay, so I'm really not sure what to do here. I'll be on the East coast until January, but have a pair of beat up Trouble Makers I can use to ride park here. Then, I plan on moving West. I can't afford to buy a pair of pow skis and park skis, and the edges are so killed on the skis I have now (literally, they are completely ripped off), that i'm pretty uncomfortable hitting jumps with them.

So I guess I'm looking for the magical "one-ski-quiver." I really want to ride some real terrain and shred as much pow as possible after 21 years of East Coast riding, but the park will always have a soft spot in my heart, and I'd love to still hit booters and handrails. So here is the dilemma: Bacons or Lizzies? They're the exact same price, I'm just not sure if the 172 cm size of the Bacon is enough.

I'm 5'7", 150 lbs and prefer a ski in the 174-178 range. So should I go to 172 with the Bacons or 182 with the Lizzies? Any experience riding park and pow with either ski?

I mean I guess I'd also consider Anthems or EP Pros, but I feel like Anthems are maybe too park specific and EP Pros are too pow specific? This is the hardest decision of my life, help a fellow NSer out!

I would have to say lizzies I have done shoots, cliffs (midwest cliffs that is nothing more then ten feet) deep in ther trees (waist deep) and park and even a little pipe on my lizzies. They have handled everything I have trown at them even for being such a soft ski.

i would say go with the 182 bacon bacons. they are meant for that one ski quiver and made to slay everywhere. i used to have a pair and they were so much fun wherever i took them, i ended up spending alot of time in the park with them.

go wif bacon's. I got some from last year, 182's, and they kill it pow-wise and they are REEEAAAALLLLYYYYYY fun to jump on.

only hand flexed them but they seem to be inbetween the prophets and the blends (i think) seem to have alot of pop

never skied either so not sure how much i can help but i flexed the bacons the other day at my shop and they werent that stiff, seem like really fun skis, also the 182 only has a radius of 18 which is awesom for a fat ski, id assume making them easer to ride for us people on the east coast skiing ec trees

Lizzies don't come in a 182. I would go with Bacons if I were you. I have lizzies as my EC pow skis, can't wait tot try them. And I would not put Bacons between prophets and blends as far as flex, it is softer than both. It is stiffer than the lizzies, I would say it has a medium-soft flex. That is by hand flexing them.

for the record, bacons are 182 (they now offer them in 172 as well) and lizzies are in 172 cm only...
I currently have, and have had the last few seasons lizzies and bacons...if you're looking for one quiver i would recomend the bacons... depending on what you do well...
they are much stiffer than the lizzies, which puts them at still pretty soft because the elizabeth is the softest ski on the market bar none.
obviously they do better in pow (they're both longer and fatter) the flex makes them better on hardback and more durable busting through crud. however, the lizzies are great in pow too and they do well with crud do to their width. lizzies would be easier to spin and jib...
sounds pretty even so far, the deciding factor to me is how good are you? if you are good enough to hit gaps larger than 50 feet id still recommend the bacons as my lizzies have looped out on me before at 60 feet or more. also, you wont notice the 5 extra inches of ski if you're a great skier...if you're an intermediate go with the lizzies they'll suit you better...
both are so sick tho... good luck!

yup, i messed up the sizing in my thread - i was getting confused as i was typing it out. i definitely have and will be hitting things bigger than 50 feet. would the tails wash out on you? that sounds like a nightmare considering i've had 2 ACL reconstruction surgeries - i'll shoot you a pm.

any other input? thanks for all the info so far guys...
