if by dirtyyyyy you mean terrible, then you are correct. How does it feel having extremely overcrowded ERs and multiple-year long waiting periods for common shit like a colonoscopies or radiation therapy for cancer treatment. Or the fact that your government commonly tells people they need to wait for chemotherapy or other diagnostic tests and procedures. Or the fact that many times, hospitals cannot treat the elderly because they it is too expensive and the government would rather have them all die once they become too much of a strain on your incredibly shitty system. To control and contain the rising costs of a government-controlled health care system the government always turns the restriction of the health care supply. Have fun with drastically reduced med school classes, shut-down hospitals, capped physicians fees, and inordinate amounts of time spent waiting to get your fevers and your aches and pains treated.

you are a paramecium. that was the worst counter-point I have ever heard. I live in the US and even I know that more and more Canadians are grumbling about the shit-show they have to deal with for a health-care system. Have you looked at the Cancer death rate in your country? That is the leading cause of death among your fellow canucks, not least due in part to the red tape bureaucracy you call health care. Waiting over six months for a colonscopy or another ROUTINE cancer screening drastically increases your chances of having cancer develop to become untreatable, leading to deaths that could have easily been prevented with a timely exam. I would argue this further with you, but it's clear that you are too much of an ignoramus to take an objective look at the way your country is run. You can keep your way, I'd prefer being able to depend first on myself, and then on my doctors, not my government, for my health.
 
I had to go to canada to get my knee surgery when i was 16 because my father's insurance he gets from his job didnt cover such things, and no HMO in the country would us a rate that was at ALLL affordable... so we went to vancouver... paid about 15% more than a canadian citizen would, and about 60% less than we would have in America, and I recieved awesome treatment, and care the whole time I was there. Oh, and I got to chill in Canada for about a week and check out the place and it was RAAAD.

SO dont fucking hate on Canada's healthcare system, or their wonderful country... because my knee is strong as ever, and we recieved equal treatment as if we were Canadian citizens during the whole process.

you have one time experience as a non-citizen who doesn't pay a shitload of taxes to prop up and keep the system afloat. You don't experience the quagmire or the bureaucratic bullshit that Canadians are shackled to. Part of the article is by a Canadian and it's from snopes, so I'd wager they have more of a clue than you do.

I'd much rather deal with the 'bureaucratic bullshit' and the 'shitload of taxes' than the being screwed for the rest of a life with a hospital bill thats almost as expensive as my house... as what would have happened if I got my knee repaired down here...

Hmm well, now that we're definitely on the subject anyway... i'll share another fun story about why AMERICA's healthcare system blows ass, and why Canada's can save your ass...

My friend rebecca, who I used to work with could not afford healthcare... thats what happens when you have college loans out the ass, and cant get a qualifiable job to pay for much more than said loans because the economy just tanked. We were lappin the park at Heavenly last season and she overshot a jump because she was going huuge, and she's pretty much a ballsy bitch. She compression fractured 3 of her vertebre on the landing... and she was more scared shitless when the ski patrol came than she was that she just literally broke her back... NOBODY should be SCARED when medics come to help you... they should feel like their savior has come and they can stop freaking out so much.

anyways they took her down, examined her... and told her basically what she figured anyway - that her back was fucked and she should definitely see a doctor.

It's beens said that in canada you have to do all this waiting around to get the help you need, well.. so did she.She took out a loan, and got medical coverage for a 6 month period. it took a week 1/2 for all that to get cleared, and about another week before she could get an appointment to meet with a doctor about it, and eventually, about 3 weeks after the incident, she got an Xray, and they were able to get her a temporary back brace, and some medicine for the pain she had been trying to subdue for the previous 3 weeks with half a bottle of tylenol per day... She's fine now... and she has medical insurance but she's now gotta pay back a pretty crappy high interest loan, (on top of her already terrible college loans) and thats FAR worse than any yearly taxes would be...

i have never, in my lifetime in canada, with two grandparents who are constantly in and out of various doctors heard of mulitple year waits. Sure once in a long while, for someone in a small town its possible, but you buy into far to much propaganda.
But sure, continue to spew your ignorance.
I'm sure your right though, and that the quality of life of your average american is rated higher than that of a canuck, oh wait. its not. have fun paying 2000 for a broken wrist, ill wait 5 hours and get it free.

Thats another funny thing... how was getting knee surgery not covered by my father's insurance, and my medical marijuana (that was awesomely prescribed for a while) was kinda subsidized by said insurance...?

yeah, not to mention.. delphi talks about all this red tape garbage... Man, when I went up there to get surgery, all i did was call up a number I found on the canadian healthcare website and they gave me all the information I needed to go about getting care within canada, and which hospitals and clinics offered the type of orthoscopic surgury I required.

For something that seems a little bit rare (me coming from the US to get healthcare) they seemed to have it together enough to give me the right information i required, and were more than ready when I showed up.

I could only expect the same organization on their end for canadian citizens...

Hell, I remember going through customs when the RCMP asked us what was

our reason for coming to canada. We told the officers straight up what

was going down and one of them flat out told me that I should be well

taken care of and he gave me the best luck.
