Help Installing Elastic Cinch in Pants

Recently got big strides and they are a bit too big. Cuff gaiters and outer shell of the pants sags down underneath the heels of my boots and I know that shit is gonna get chewed up in a couple days of hiking or walking in the parking lot.

I remember reading a thread where some guy put elastic cinches in the cuffs of his pants but I can’t find it in search. Anyone got experience with this or could give me tips? I’m pretty good at sewing/have access to a sewing machine and crafts store.

I’ve done it on multiple pants. I don’t even sew when I do it. Just cut an entry hole for the string and feed it around, its like feeding a string thru the hood of a hoodie, u just gotta finesse it. If you run into a spot where the fabric overlaps on the inside and you can’t push through just cut another hole and go around it. You might be tempted to go around on the inside to hide the string but beware, it will not cinch properly this way.

Thats how I do it anyways. Not very professional but its really easy and i’ve never had the entry/exit holes rip but if they do then i’ll sew it
