Alright, I'm fucking worried here. I ordered a Panasonic PV-GS500 off of www.bestpricecameras.com earlier today. Before I did, I did some research on the company and didn't find anything on them as opposed to another choice site which was... let's not talk about them. Anyways, I call up best price and talked to a sales rep. finding out what the camera came with and how long the warrenty was, everything checked out. It was convienent and nice. I thanked him and ordered online. Just about 15 minutes ago I read another thread online which gave a link to store's online ratings and reviews and as it turns out the website I used had a really, really, really bad rating. The reviews said they where nothing more than crooks basically. Completly shitting myself, I rechecked my order number to see if I could cancell it and it came up like this...

...very much different from the very professional looking page with my confirmation number. So has anyone used this site with a positive result? I do not want this shit just before a major trip where a new camera is utterly neccissary. Please help me.
 
shit man, there has got to be a number that you can call on the main page, and if not, tell someone who deals with internet fraud
 
There is a number for customer service, and it does work really well, it's just that it's passed the hours the lines are open.
 
You're pretty much screwed. Either it will come really late or not at all. And they'll be based in some other country so you can't do anything about it.
 
yeah if you used a credit card you're alright. If you sued a debt card, you might be able to get it back. Call the sales rep again.
 
call them first, maybe they just have a shitty website...if their customer service blows you off, then call your credit card company...
 
All right here we go. We shut the credit card down so they cannot get any money out of it. Those fuckers are not getting a cent of my money.
 
ever heard of Best Buy? man you could walk in and walk out with a camera... no worries. jeeze, youre completely silly if you catch them and dont sue their asses.
 
well, he just got fucked over online once, and we all know that there are shitty people out on ebay, so i dont think hed be up for that. but thats just me
 
dude.. check reseller ratings and shit i have heard so many bad stories about that place from different skate photo/film websites
 
I went to this link someone gave in another thread on NS and I decided to look up reviews on my company just in case and it came up with very bad things about them as well as an actual picture of where the business is. The building it's in makes an abondoned warehouse look lavish.
 
my bought a xl-1 off some camera site and sent a check for some fucking stupid reason. never got the camera. cops wont do shit because they cant and its your fault. he bought another one and the combined price was still under a new one, but it was so shitty.
 
you have to do more reasearch before you buy!!!!!! before i bought my GL2, i went to multiple forums and review sites.

bad places (like the one you ordered from) are nothing but bad news. you try to cancel your order online which usually results in them giving you a number to call to cancel it talking directly to a person. when you call them, they give you all this bullshit like how theyll throw in certain accessories if you keep your order. if you keep denying these offers the customer service rep hangs up on you and you have to keep calling. you can eventually cancel your order but keep checking your credit card account to make sure they havnt charged you (this has happened to some people.

anyway, thats just what ive read about pretty much all the bad electronic sites. they lure you in with amazing prices and rip you off. these kinds of sites are fucking scams.

make sure you research more before you buy somthing that expensive even if you have to pay a lot more, at least your not getting ripped off. if somehow your able to cancel your order try ordering from:
