Help getting footage onto mac (1st time)

i have a gl2 and final cut expressthe footage is on the tape, can i use a usb wire or do i need the dv wire
i looked through the directions and shit but i just wanna make sure i do it right the first time
 
your gonna need a firewire to get good capturing. the gl2 has a 4 pin end and your computer probably has a 6pin end if it has one, which it should. so u just need a 4pin to 6 pin firewire cable.
 
Your Mac should have a Firewire 6-pin slot on it, which is the cheapest and easiest way to do things.

If you want you can get a processing deck, but those can get pricey (cheapest being the Sony DSR-11).

Just remember to turn your camera on when you plug it in to the computer :D
 
i have a mini dv sony handycam any tips as to what i should use for that haha i know its nothing great but it gets the job done ....and its also to a macbook pro
