HELP Computer Fried +k

Hello NS i got home today to a computer that wont turn on, so i called my dad to see what was up and he said we lost power for 10 seconds and this computer didnt have a circuit breaker so he said it "fried". I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else. If it has how do i fix it, will i lose all of my files on the computer, and if it can be fixed how much will it be around. Thanks to anyone who has a helpful answer.

you will not lose your files if you hard drive is o.k. the power supply could just be "fried." you can check your hard drive by attaching it to another computer (you have to do this inside the box- NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING ), or take the whole thing to someone that knows what they are doing and can do it easily.
