si i need to buy bindings for a park ski. can someone recomend a binding for jibbing and jumping thats not gunna break the bank or the skis (pulling out)

Well we need your size(height/weight), skier type, where you ski and all that good stuff.

Oh, and Gear Talk is the most appropriate forum for this.

These fischer x14 din 4-14 90mm brakes 120 shipped brand new

You are an idiot. Jesters and FKS do not fit everyone's needs.

God this site is full of a bunch of trendwhore retards that buy shit because everyone else has it.

actually jesters or FKS would be a great choice. Especially if he could find a pair of used FKS, thats what I would do.

There is a reason they are "trendy" - because they are fucking good bindings.

Ya, I know. I ride FKS.

But I can imagine that this kid would be fine on a pair of SAS120's. FKS is overkill.

how is a good binding overkill? if he can get a pair for a reasonable price then he should for sure go for it, why cheap out on something that could save your knees in the future?

Ummm...you make no sense.

How are the FKS' any more likely to save knees than say... the SAS' they he mentioned?

from what i have heard they release much better than the axial2 series from rossignol, they do not pre release as much, and they release better in twisting falls? i have never used fks, but i have used axial2 bindings and have had quite a few pre releases and awkward falls where they should have released. and yes they are at the correct din and set properly.

again i have never used the fks and can only go from what i have experienced using axial2's, but i truly do not see a problem in using a higher quality, better binding that is still within his din range.

i am not trying to tell anyone they are wrong, but how is a binding that fits the criteria for what the op will be using it for, and is said to be a better binding than the axial2 overkill?

exactly, having better bindings isn't overkill.

Maybe if the OP needs a 10 DIN binding, then he shouldn't get FKS, but otherwise I personally wouldn't buy any other binding. I have both FKS (I've used other turntables too and I feel the same way) and px12's and the fks just feel WAY better and less chinsy, as well as weighing a lot less and having a shorter mounting platform. Sure they have their downsides, but I would still recommend them to pretty much anybody besides noobs. A FKS 120 will have way better elasticity than a sas120 and release much cleaner, not to mention feel much better when skiing. px12's just feel like cheap plastic. Anyone who's DIN range falls in the window I would recommend FKS over any binding.

I can't say anything about marker bindings, other than that I have heard very good things, but I have never ridden them myself.

What would be helpful is if the OP told us his weight and skier ability, and the DIN he rides.

And ArnieP, it seems like every thread I see you in you just post stuff that is going to cause an argument. Grow up and start being a worthwhile member, rather than contributing to the hatefest that NS has become. Easily my least favorite member.

^ Actually, if you looked into it, the Axial2 series claim more elastic travel than the previous pivots and turntables.

The fact is that the heel doesn't release laterally, the toe does, the heel on the pivot and FKS aided the toe in releasing in BTFs to as to lessen the chances of knee injury.

They were able to achieve that same effect, and improved elasticity with the newer design, or so they say. So the safety argument is a non-issue.

The reality is that most (and I'm talking like 80% most) of the people skiing do not NEED a race stock binding. Does it hurt? No, not unless you're riding a higher DIN than normal to be in that binding. But most people will never push their equipment so hard as to actually cause it to fail. There are those that are that tough on gear though, and those people are who should be on that gear.

The majority of consumers though, and yes, even consumers who ride park and ski on twins, are just fine with a consumer-level binding.

So why not save some cash and just go with what will suit your needs?

wow thanks for all the feedback..and sorry about sparking suck a debate and/or posting in the wrong section im not on NS that much lol.

im 6" 1' and about 175 and i ride park pretty agrresivly. and i have jesters on my 09 seths and i love em :) if that helps at all.

I have fks 120s and I hate them.
but maybe because they're very old and may not work right.
I just don't like how the heel has to be recentered very time you want to click in, I don't know if it's normal or not. And the brakes are hard to bend.

So ... what about helping this kid now ? End of all those debate.
Post what you have ( I need some too haha :P) so if top_phlight doesn't want what you propose to him pm me (1 thread for 2 dudes ...saving space hehe ! )

Potentially, yes. You just seemed to have lucked out by suggesting the two most trendy bindings known to NS.

Oh, and fuck you. You are a cumdumpster.

I have friend like you, who doesn't buy stuff just because it's trendy, even if its a better product. He's so caught up in trying to be different its ridiculous. I don't worry about trends, what I worry about is performance, and I reccomended fks becuse they PERFORM

I do not disagree with you on the fact that they perform. And I rode FKS 155's all year last year, so I know this.

But you initially backed a recommendation because they are trendy without knowing to what level of performance he needed. For all we knew, he could have been 13 years old at 5'4" 100lbs. In that case, no, he would not need those bindings. An s810 would have done just fine. But now we know that he is 6' whatever he is and yes, FKS may be what he needs.

I just find it funny that you back the initial advice because it performed for you and you think that everyone and their grandpa needs a pair. Talk about the bandwagon.

fuck you. youre probobly the 13 year old whose 5'4" and 100lbs and can barely slide a rail faggot. and whose that on your icon pic, your faggot ass nigger lovin cock sucking grandma??

oh yeah and get some jesters, or fks. if you cant find any of those just get some rossis or look jibs because they are cheaper. i would reccommend fks becuase they are light and they PERFORM. hows that for some NS trendy shit??

It is amazing how off base you are.

Just because the other 98% of the forum is full of kids like you described(yourself included), does not mean that the other 2% does not know what they are talking about.

Oh, and it it Arnold Palmer. It goes with my name you fucking JONG.

Save the 120's, have you ever picked up a pair of FKS. They are not light. That is what happens when you have an ALL METAL race binding.

Both of the skis I have with fks weigh less than the skis I have with px12's

just sayin. The track on them adds a lot of weight. (but is beneficial fo sho)

ahha i didnt mean to start a flame war, but i completely understand what you meant now arnie. and yes that kid is a douche
