Hey, this is my first post ever on here. So basically I've been skiing for about 9 years, and id like to say im decent at it. I've never done park skiing, and i want to start doing park skiing. I dont have twintips, would it be a good investment to get some? What should i start off learning trick wise? I can already ski switch, and i can 180, but thats about it. Should i build a ski setup in my yard to start practicing? Thanks for the help

i wouldn't say build a set up just yet. Get some twin tips, ski this season on your home mountain and progress the best you can. hit everything. learn from this website and others. then maybe a set up come late spring

start with some basic twin with some cheap binding(ex:line afterbangs)

you should definitely build a backyard setup because it really really help to start with rails.

ohh and welcome to Newschoolers, this awsome community of skier =D

Thanks, i think ill build a setup with some really small features. out of pvc.I already have a quarter pipe so i already have a drop in. Do you have to wax the pvc ?

i'd suggest a small setup in your yard. it's really easy to get good and confident on rails with a small setup in your yard. also, this helps because then you don't need to go to the mountain everyday, you just come home from school and practice for a while. also, when it comes to spinning, always keep your head turning to where you wanna go. your body will follow where your head goes. i practiced spinning for about a month straight and now i'm bomb at it! good luck dude.

Welcome. And just like they said. Get some twins. When you're done with those two go get some twin tip skis. Build a set up, and go for shit.

learn both side spins, thats what i should've done :D

also learn to rail both sides(switch ups etc.), not only the easy side. It will help alot progressing by being able to spin both ways almost as same good.
