Help a maritimer

Hey Guys,

I am travelling to Vancouver between December 1st and December 8th. What hills should be open in that area by then and where would you recomennd I ski? Also would there be Heli-Skiing at that time of the year and if so what would be the best company to go with?

Just some extra info on me:

While I am out there I am not interested in park skiing I just want to take in the mountains/views and just get miles in so if the hill doesn't have a park it don't matter to me. Also I would classify myself as an "expert" skier, so difficult terrain doesn't intimidate me.

whistler is the only hill worth comming fromt the maritimes for in the vancouver area.

but lots of goood hills around the province. Myself I'd go to Nelson if I were you.
 
yeah if your in van, whistler dude. the local hills are cool but meh. otherwise check out shit like fernie, Red, Mt. Cain...lots of sick places more inland
 
Thanks for the answers guys!! I will probablly be renting a vehicle so i can travel inland for sure! I definat;ley want to check out Fernie and Red as well as whistler!
 
Fernie is like an 11hr drive from Vancouver. For that distance, its'probably worth going to kicking horse instead.
