Help a camcorder noob.. +++k=:)

So I'm in the market for a camcorder. Now, I dont need anything fancy, i just need something that will pump out some almost decent picture quality, probably just for filming some skiing and putting some edits on youtube and such. No high def or anything like that. Oh and it needs to be mini dv.

What I need to know, is what is the difference between a 200$ camcorder and a 500$ one. If theres not much difference, I will probably buy a cheap one.
Youve got to understand that I am also incredibly broke too, so the cheaper the better I guess.

go into your local bestbuy or circuit city or whatever you have and talk to the people about what you want to use it for, and what you want in the camera. then they will tell you what camera you should get or they will show you cameras you may be interested in.
