do you always wear a helmet? why or why not?

not just for skiing, also biking, skating etc

i do cause I like my head the way it is :)

I wear one Skiing, biking and skating transition, large stuff at parks or even super sketchy or bigger street stuff, because I need it to many head injury’s with or without a helmet skiing, skating, biking and just living life. It’s just not worth the risk for me personally.

edit: also not wearing a helmet mtbing looks stupid af

one time i saw two guys mtbing without helmets, they look like brothers or twins, looked identical. they were wearing mtb kit, look like dressed like pro riders, but no helmets so they're both dumb.

when it's brick af on east coast yes...spring time meh. More importantly, know your limits. Most times i'm just saucing kfeds on shmedium features

I always wear one but haven't hit my head for a while. Better to have it and not need it than end up as a vegetable for the rest of your life. Plus I spent hard earned money on my helmet so I'll be damned if I don't get my miles out of it.

I always wear a helmet, just because I have the worst luck imaginable, and I know that as soon as I stop wearing it, I'll have an accident and be turned to a mildly annoying vegetable.

I always wear it skiing. I could get away without it but, also, nobody goes to the mountain saying “I’m going to hit my head today”. So rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Im bad about wearing helmets when biking or skating though. I need to change that.

Always rock a dome piece on most sports because they’re comfy

You tried skiing in 80 degree weather for 2 weeks with a helmet on can make you question that. Taking it off on the lift was such a relief.

Closing weekend was 70. My helmet is pretty light so it made it more bearable but I did have to run snow on my face to keep cool. Still was comfy

Not skating

mtb I feel you absolutely have to

skiing depends if your hucking your shit yes or if you just want to but you can just be chillen riding the waves that the hill sauces you, then you don’t need one

When I was littler I always used to argue with my dad abt wearing a helmet biking, I’ve always worn one skiing cause I’ve seen way to many people hit their head on rails with no helmet. Long story short I was out for a bike ride and hit a piece of glass going Mach ten down a hill, my front tire blew and I nosedived into the ground and got knocked out, woke up in the hospital with half my face burned off and still can’t remember what happened. If my dad hadn’t forced me to wear a helmet It cld have been much worse so I always do now. Also I live in a city and have hit or been hit by cars like 5 times so it’s always a safe bet.

Holy shit that's scary. My uncle and dad were riding down Lookout Mtn one day when he hit a small rock and blew out his front tire. Somehow he didn't crash but where they were, he would've likely flown over/under the guard rail down the side. Biking is way more gnarly than skiing imo

I will always wear a helmet but fuck I wish it was perfectly safe to not wear one cause my hair would look sick as hell with no beanie or anything
