Helmets- good or bad

If you are clicking in without a helmet on your head, you are just asking for it. Don't let fashion dictate whether or not you get a concussion or die.

helmets!! They look better than non helmets in my opinion... With giro, RED, and other helmet companies, the helmets now produced are dope!! I just got my giro nine.mx... oh it is so awesome. Plus with tuneups, dont worry about earbuds anymore

Don't be stupid whenever you ski park you should wear a helmet.

Today Al launched off the biggest table in our park (75ft.) and over rotated his spin and rocked his dome on our rock solid landing. It split his Giro MX10 almost in half and he had an extreme concussion. He was out for over 15 minutes then he came around and went into shock. The ski patrol and a couple of the guys had to hold him down so he wouldn't freak out. It was fucking scary stuff. Without his helmet he could have been in a coma or brain dead.

i wear one when in parks the demand it, but otherwise not really. I dont have one any more but i am in the market. It all depends how i feel that day, if im feeling like a dumass the lid go's on.

yeah definetly wear one you never know what could happend, once y was skiing with my brother and i was waiting for him because he was just learning and like 10 feet above me an asshole falls down and one of his skis flies directly in my head i couldn't react or anything, i had to get like 10 stiches, since then y always wear a helmet

some ski schools in europe make everyone under 16 wear one, so when people get older than that they have got into the habbit off wearing one

i always wear my helmet when im skiing. Its light, warm, windproof, stylish. and its safe. plus helmets are manditory at my home mountain, but i'd still rock a helmet even if it wasnt

i rock a giro 9, and im a big fan. i finally got a good helmet this last season, and the first day i had it, i took two falls that shouldda knocked my ass out cold. ima fan. i dont wear it 100 percent, specially if im just dickin around or slidin lil rails. but on big jumps, specially here in the east, you NEED one

I only quoted 1080_grinder because I love MOUNTAIN DEW!

But yes, helmets = good. Especially for the little things like banging your head on the chairlift.

I always wear my R.E.D. Hi-Fi, it's nice, it's warm, it's the lightest helmet on earth and it protects my head. So good.

Why I wear one:

Other People. Helmets are nice when you fall. They keep your head from bouncing and impacting on ice. But the main reason I wear one is protection from other people. While I'm in control, many other people that ski are not. Thats why I wear one in bounds. Yeah, they're nice when you crash, but when I fall, I usually end up hitting my hip or knee or twisting my arm somehow. A helmet wont really save you if you hit a tree glade skiing anyways, but it certianly will help you when a 200 lb skier crashes into you from behind.

Out of bounds, I wear my helmet anyways. Dropping cliffs and skiing out in avalanche country is dangerous, theres a lot that could happen out there. Helmets are really a must when I'm out of bounds or in BC.

The only time I dont wear one is when I'm sessioning a kicker somewhere, where I know there is no avalanche danger and out of control skiers.

So, why would you not wear one? Helmets these days are lightweight, warm and daresay even stylie. Besides, even if you only use it once, you'll be glad you were wearing it. Wear a helmet, its that simple.

i use to never wear one until this past year. now i will never go without one. ive ran head first into a skilift support cuz my skis fell off and i was going fast enough. ive messed up on a tailgrab and my skis went into the ground and i slamed my head. if i didnt have a helmet on i dono how i woulda turned out so i say helmet all the way.

i do half of the time. when Im in the trees or in areas with rocks i do. and when im hittin urban i do. but just from my experiences i cant see it being that possible to hit my head on a rail or hurt it on a jump. on a jump ur neck is the most in dangered. on rails i spose there are some cases where it could happen but its usually my wrists hips and ass that get hurt
