Helmets and hats (sizing question)

So I'm looking to buy a helmet (I ride park) and I recently went to my local shop to get some other stuff and tried on some helmets but none of them really fit with a beanie on. Do most of you guys wear hats under your helmets? How much bigger in size should I go? A large helmet fit me without a hat..

I take out of padding if i wear a beanie under my helmet.

I would go one size up if a helmet doesn't fit over your beanie after taking the padding out.

Having gone through the tech training for helmet sizing manufacturers would say that one should not wear anything other than a super thin layer under it.

My advice get one that fits with the padding in but can be removed (sandbox or bern are good on this) then remove the padding for a beanie. Personally I find that helmets are warm enough that a beanie is not needed even on them death cold days.

But if you want the fashion of it you are compromising the safety or the helmet by wearing a beanie / snapback or whatever under it. According to the manufacturers.
