Ok so with the talk about waterproofness, i decided to go check what my new jackets was, I bought a Helly Hansen Technical Jacket with tapred seams and shit, but anyways all it said was: WATERPROOF RATING- VERY HIGH but the after it said: (after wash minimum of 5.000 mm) ok so this gets me scared isnt 5.000mm like absolutely nothing!??? please tell me because i would be pissed after it said very high and the lady and the guy at the store i bought it from said it was really good for harsh conditions

whos in da house, SACA is in the house!!! hahahahmuhahahah

are you planning on swimming in it though? id think its just for rain. and if its for snow, snow usually wipes off waterproofed clothes before it melts anyway.

ya i may take an occasional swim in the lake with it just to break it in.... ya but i guess ur right it kinda does wipe off before, its like a shell, after i wash it a few times maybe i will just spray it down with the waterproof stuff, that shit works mad good

5,000 mm is pretty damn good i think. i have a pair of helly tech pants that are 5,000 mm and they don't soak through at all. get a lil heavy sometimes when really really soaked, but they do the job.

seriously unless you're going to be using them to pond skim most of the time you should be fine with them. helly pants are sick too. mine keep me extremely warm but they don't feel that heavy. lifetime warranty on them is also very nice :)

i actually bought them at the ski market. my cousin works there so i get a discount. on any other point i don't recommend the ski market because their service & prices suck ass.

if you got a nice coat w/ taped seams and waterproofed, it is not good to wash it in a machine. the washing machine will wear the seams right out and you will get wet quicker.

I've not had great luck with HH, but that's just me. I've had 3 of there Rain Parkas and 2 different pairs of their ski pants, all of which have malfunctioned in some way. One things that's CHEERS for the company is that they are kick ass about warrenty. PROPS for that, many companies don't care.

ya i need to try them on i think i want and xtra large because i am growing still
