Heli Skiing in Maine

I saw this the other day, while heli-skiing sounds awesome in itself, I don't think I would really want it, or see the need for it in Maine. You can hike to the top of Saddleback easy enough and ski, my friends and I have done it before. Its so windy up there that its never powder, its wind blown crust.

Although I don't really think they are doing this as a convenience thing, as I said its easy enough to hike up there yourself and earn your turns. Sounds like more of a thing to cater to really wealthy people who want the heli-skiing experience, I don't know though.

the first comment pretty much sums up my thoughts about this, even though I don't live in the east:

"I hope it's for laughs. They better not start dumping heli-punters on all of our favorite hike to terrain"

pretty much that. how would you like to bust ass skinning up something only to be snaked by some gaper on demo boards that shouldn't be skiing there in the first place? I don't really give a fuck how much money they paid, you'd be pissed regardless.
