Headphones with Helmets?

Hit my head a few times this season and I wanna start wearing my helmet everyday in the park. Just wondering what you guys think are the best headphones to use when wearing helmets. Personally I love icons, but hate to use them under a helmet. Alot of earbuds have terrible sound quality or simply fall out with the turn of a head.

What's the best bet?

you can get a helmet that has headphones built in if your willing to spend some money. i have a smith helmet that has skullcandy inserts and its really nice - great sound quality.

built in speakers suck tbh. I've been thinking about the icon clips or whatever they are, instead of looping them around your ear just put them around your goggle strap maybe? It's just a thought

what part about my post gave you the idea that Im a gaper, or you just thought that'd be a super funny joke?

headphones, earbuds, whatev you wanna call em. are you suggesting that no-one listens to music while wearing a helmet unless they are a gaper?

I sometimes pretend I am listening to music singing along to some corny song while riding the chairlift with foreigners in order to give the impression that Americans all rock out to songs like The Danger Zone and Eye of the Tiger.

Both Smith and Shred make helmets with built in audio systems. Only problem with these is most people take the ear pads out of their helmets for park so they can wear a beanie underneath, and the audio system is made into the ear pads. The biggest advantage to having the built in audio system though (primarily with Smith Holt) is that there is a button that allows you to pause the music without messing with your helmet and taking out your headphones, which can be a pain sometimes when talking to people on the hill and having to pause your music.

gyro and smith make the built in headphones that you can buy as an accessory. They work pretty good or the icon 2's are sick. They go right around the back of the helmet and right on your ears.

i really cant stand icons around the back of the neck, everytime i land they fall down, and i really like to hearsome solid base. i have really liked earbuds. if you find some that stay in your ears they are golden. the cheapest skullcandy buds suck but i dropped forty bucks on a pair and they are pretty solid, they have the cloth cable instead of plastic, stay in my ears really well and have been rockin them all season

i switch back from earbuds and icons also. I do agree that icons fall off your ears but I still like them. Its just preference i guess

Sorry I misread your post...

I just ipod ear buds when I use a helmet because I don't like the ear buds that actually go into your eye. Just uncomfortable imo. These don't fall out but can get uncomfortable after a couple hours:

i have those. great for everything but skiing. icon2's suck for skiing with the new ear pads and band.

use the ipod ones. cheap, have a volume control thing on the cord, and not noise canceling so you can still have conversations

during the euro x games super pipe Dorey was rocking his icons underneath his goggle strap behind his helmet, and they stayed on during his run

i have icon 2s and a giro encore helmet.
i put the icons backwards so the "L" side is on my right side and same with the "R" around my neck because when they are upside down the seem to fit the ears better this way
i put my helmet.goggles and everything on.
then where there are the 2 straps that connect to make the chin strap. go over the back one with the icons and tuck them under the front one closest to your face. mine seem to stay in perfect

i would either recomend using icons and putting them bakcn underneath gogglee strap or you can put them aroudn your neck and crank them or earpolution earpuds work really well
