Head Kore

Just checking in on why there is little to no mention of the Kore series on here? It's not a ski that I'm at all interested in, but similar skis get way more love on here. What's your take on them?

They are sick skis, but a lot of it is culture and marketing. Brands like fischer, head and a couple others appeal more to older demographics. Of the ones that have come into my shop 90% of them came from someone 40+ years old.

they are pretty sick

they are super lightweight

also i'm pretty sure one of the young guns from last year wore them and absolutely sent

Everything about them from the graphics, the name, the fact that I can't name more than 5 freeskiers that head sponsors, pretty much add up to me never buying those skis because I would rather support people who give a shit about this community. My brother who works in a shop has a pair and they just kinda look like a cheap walmart ski. I'm sure they're fine, but there are just so many better options

Cole Richardson (@skier_cole on ig), the dude absolutely rips

They look like a pretty fun ski to ride too

looks like he is mounted pretty close to center in those insta videos. Everything I read about them was saying a rec mount point of like 11cm back and that is not very newschoolery IMO. Does anyone that is not response by head have any experience with riding these center mounted?

I like the idea of it as a backcountry ski because of its weight and it has good reviews. I'd rather support more freestyle oriented brands and also i like my twin tippers

Fischer has always gone over my head. I think their marketing just doesn't appeal to newschoolers. Not to mention they have the most boring graphics of all time.

Durability is definitely a negative, seen a bunch of em come in for warranty completely dicked

They seem blah. Zero pop, zero playfulness, zero fun. IMO they’re a ski that you take for touring and backcountry without doing anything big... and carving around the mountain.

Have you actually skied them? The 117 has been my daily for the past couple seasons and that thing has pop for days! It also still feels impressively playful for how stiff and directional it is, due to the super low swing weight.

No...... I’ve just read reviews and watched videos ?

that's one guy and the skiing he does isn't relatable to me. and a skier will ski on anything if you give them enough cash. Do you think Line makes better skis than ON3P because LSM skis for Line now?

also, light skis suck for skiing chop, so all of you guys saying that these are dope skis cause of how light they are aren't convincing me lol

Yes he is amazing...At that skill level you can ride anything and be good. It's like Karl going from on3p to k2. (although these two have freestyle skis)

Is it the fact he's riding a pretty much straight up charger of a ski? Like nothing about it is playful.. I wonder how he'd look on something like the Inthaynes or a prodigy 4.0

I skied a pair of 117's in the resort for a full season and still use them as a pow ski. They manage to be stiff as hell but still are very playful and poppy for a big ski. Of course they aren't an arv or a candide but that doesn't make them a bad ski. If you think they cant handle big tricks or drops you must be living under a rock. Cole Richardson and Sam Kutch are two of the best skiers around right now and both of them ski the Kores. Don't knock it till ya try it

There are so many good skis out right now you cant keep up. Personally, there are like 20 skis ive tried and would be happy to ski every day, but if you are buying blind or full price its hard to not buy Moment or On3p.

But the kore is great, so is the ranger 99ti, nordica enforcers, volkl mantra/kendo and stokli stormriders. I have only good things to say about those skis but at the end of the day i like the NS favored brand's skis better

Blake Marshall makes me want to ski the Kores and Blister reviews have convinced me that the Fischer Ranger 102 FR is the best ski ever invented.

But I prefer the smaller brands because they got soul, maannn

My thoughts in the Kore are in line with [tag=253714]@blister[/tag] .

I demoed a pair last season, and thought it was weird that you’d make ultra light ski so stiff. Fine on groomers, but off piste it felt like I was taking an f1 car out on a rock crawl. Just weird.

pros get payed and are generally soo good it doesn’t matter enjoy ski their on.

I’ve seen that and they absolutely shred on the Head Kore. But from the specs and reviews they seem like a basic bland ski. Of course, I haven’t tried them so I technically don’t have an opinion. That said, I bet that If you put Cole Richardson or Sam Kuch on almost any “freeride/all-mountain” ski they would perform extremely well.

Maybe I’m just biased because bought them and I wanted to like them from the start. Idk, they are a pretty surprising ski that I don’t feel gets enough credit. Give em a shot if ya get the chance, they might blow your socks off like they did to me

I’m always willing to try new equipment if I can ?

Had to test some of the next years models of the Kore (99 & 111), was in some decent powder and chop - as far as a ski that some person who has not much pow skiing experience can hop on, figure out quick and feel like they are ripping on compared to their all mountain carvers, it fits the bill. Not my favourite by a long shot, but I feel like it fills the ‘Soul 7’ niche in a way
