Hey so im looking to buy my first pair of boots.

I just got k2 press skis cause i wanna get more into the park but still do groomers and stuff im not really a fan of moguls so i stay away from blacks unless its a pow day hah.

I was wondering if any one has had HEAD boots and what they thought of em and maybe if they would work for park? I tried some on at the store today and they were extremely comfortable but i dont think their really a park ski but the guy at the shop said they would work so what are your thoughts on that?

the exact boot i was thinking about getting was the HEAD AdaptEdge 90 flex but it still felt pretty flexible compared to some other boots ive tried on.

theres the link for the boot!

any advice or input is greatly appreciated thanks!

also i have a really wide foot and monster calves so full tilits wont work for me unfortunately.

Go to a boot fitter at a local shop. If you want to know a good shop to go to, go to a ski area or call one around you and ask to talk to somebody in charge of the race teams. Ask that person what boot fitter to go to and you will get great service.

Now at the boot fitter he/she will pick out a boot thats great for you, and will work on the shape of the boot to make it fit perfectly to your foot (this involves footbeds, blowing the plastic out in places, carving some plastic away, etc.)

You can use any boot for any kind of skiing for the most part. Fit and comfort are the most important things.

(ask onenerdykid for further advice).

I would ask a boot fitter but unfortunately there are no boot fitters in AZ the closest one to me would be by r house in Durango CO but the closest to that is all the way up in telluride. Thats why im asking people on here. I wish i had a boot fitter close! that would be awesome! thanks for the input though i appreciate it!

Send this man :https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/members/profile/member_id/134699/a pm with this thread in it and ask for his advice. He is pretty much thebomb.com and knows what he's talking about. Best of luck mate!

The edge is a great boot if it fits your foot. Im presuming you have a wide high volume foot if you have been recommended this boot. If this is the case, then there are a few other boots you could look at. Maybe try on the Atomic Live fit boots. The salomon RS range could also work, so long as you dont have a high instep.

Overall, you need to get the boots fitted though, there is no two ways about it. There is more to getting a good boot then just the boot its self.

Yeah, bootfitter is the way to go.

But for what its worth, the most comfortable boots I ever tried were a pair of entry-level Heads. Not sure of model, but they were like 60 or 70 flex and really cheap. Definitely solid value.

Tell the bootfitter that your first choice is something in the Head range, but don't exclude other brands just because of their name. I never intended to rock Salomon SPKs as I was amped on Dalbello or FT, but after trying on everything, the SPKs were a no-brainer for my feet.

Don't even do that (ask for a brand first)- it only sets you up for confusion and doubt. There is no "brand fit" that will work well or poorly so go in with an open mind and trust your foot and trust your boot-fitter to find the right boot for you.
