HDTV Flat panel LCD's and game systems

I've had my samsung LCD HDTV for a while now and i have always been wondering whether it is really true that playing playstation or xbox on those kinds of t.v.s messes it up. My friend said it did , so i was wandering if anyone could help me out.

it only "wrecks" rear projection screens and even then its only if you leave it on one screen for a prolonged period of time. My friends and I play forza and halo on my hdtv all the time and it doesn't wreck it.

Do you use component plugs? Since that's using the T.V.'s HDTV ability i think thats why people are saying it could wreck it.

i use monster cables for my dvd player and just the regular red white and yellow cables for my xbox

def do not pause the game with the tv on, I pause the game on my xbox and shut off the hdtv to go do shit. the screen gets kinda an imprint.
