All right so I call this place where they sell HDPE but unfortunately they only have 1/4" HDPE. I read that 1/4" would be really thin for counter-sink screws so I was wondering if you guys think I could use some industrial glue to secure the HDPE on my top sheet.

iv heard that liquid nails alone doesnt really work out that well after a while. best bet is trying to get some thinker HDPE.

that is what i have. works fine. ditch the liquid nails and just counter sink some outdoor wood srews. works fine. onlything thats a bunner is withough metal edges to the box the edges of the hdpe gets trashed just dont take gnarly falls on it.

All right, I was able to find a 1/2" x 4' x 8' HDPE sheet for 172$ CAD. Money is not an issue when you can have a lot of fun :D

Dude, 1/4" is plenty thick for countersinking (I have 1/4" on my box). Maybe put some coping on it if you are really worried. I'm putting coping on my boxes soon.

That price is around normal (slightly lower). A sheet of 1/4" 8'x4' HDPE is $102.17 USD where I get it from. I only got a 4'x4' sheet though.

i tried doing my lexan with "silicon adhesive". i used a decent amount , but it didnt stick for very long and after 1 season i ended up having to re-do it

My angle iron rusts (I didn't use it on the box) and it seems like it would make you slide on the angle iron instead of the plastic.

you could wax it up, then it wont rust but yeah youd probably get more slideage on the metal then on the plastic. but if you slide like mad anyway whats the difference?

i have 1/4 hdpe and counter sunk it and it is fine. no cracks or anything, and it is super sturdy. just countersink barely enough and then sand it over
